Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said three deaths over the weekend are being investigated to see if they're connected to the winter storm that blanketed the state.

Gov. Andy Beshear made the declaration on Friday. The state’s Emergency Operations Center in Frankfort will activate at 7 a.m. Saturday.

Parts of Kentucky received up to six inches of rain from Feb. 15-16 as freezing temperatures hit the region. Counties around the state faced flooding issues because of the storms.

A portion of River Road near the Belvedere in downtown Louisville is closed due to high water, while a part of Frankfort Avenue is also closed due to mud left behind from the water.
