The Louisville Metro Council is in the process of hiring an independent monitor to oversee LMPD’s activities.

Louisville residents are invited to weigh in on the qualities and qualifications needed for an independent monitor to oversee the Louisville Metro Police Department. 

Although some of the protests turned violent, the movement has led to positive changes in the community that continue today. 

While the police chief and mayor say they're still committed to reform, some members of Metro Council — and the communities they serve — are still skeptical.
