Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg announced Thursday that he nominated Inspector General Ed Harness, the first person to hold that position in the city's history, to a second term.
Ed Harness, who was appointed as the city's first inspector general in 2021, previously said he was told his chances of being reappointed were "slim."
Officers were ordered not to talk about the party, according to the complaints.
Months of social unrest in Louisville and cries for accountability after the police killing of Breonna Taylor led to the creation of the Civilian Review and Accountability Board. Last year, the city's first inspector general was hired.
