Protests over the shooting of Breonna Taylor by Louisville police erupted downtown in late May and stretched for more than 150 days, leading to continuing clashes with law enforcement.

The department is asking residents to "help shape policies that reflect the values and needs of our community."

Community feedback helped determine ELEFA as Louisville’s Independent Monitor to oversee police reform and public safety accountability.

The DOJ ordered the city into a consent decree — a federal mandate for police reform — last March that will require the Louisville Metro Police Department to make major changes.
