The number of ambulance calls grew 44% since 2018 to more than 1 million last year, according to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security. 

The 47-year-old was unresponsive after the ride, and was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.

Hospital officials expect the renovations to be complete by the end of 2020.
