A suspended Nelson County fire chief changed his plea on Monday to guilty on charges of abuse of public trust, official misconduct and theft.

Police also seized electronic records, including three Excel spreadsheets from Allegiant Travel Company containing approximately 35 itineraries for Jamey, Misty, and Kasey Noel. 

Investigators are asking for records that show how the former Clark County sheriff paid for commercial airline tickets for his family and a former councilwoman who is also the mother of one of his children.

Noel's daughter also earned close to $80,000 in 2022 as his administrative assistant. 

The Indiana Supreme Court appointed a special judge Thursday to oversee the case against Misty Noel, who was recently charged with five counts of theft and five counts of tax evasion in Clark County.
