College of Charleston coach Pat Kelsey was not the most talked about candidate during the University of Louisville coaching search, but he was around from the start of it.

The University of Louisville Athletic Association board has approved the hiring Thursday of Jeff Brohm as new head football coach, handing the former Cardinals player and assistant a six-year contract worth nearly $6 million annually plus performance incentives.
