Nearly 100,000 students are set for the first day of school at Jefferson County Public Schools on Thursday.Â
The state's largest school district continues to work hard to avoid repeating the transportation issues experienced last year.Â
In April, the Jefferson County Board of Education voted to cut transportation to all magnet and traditional schools, which impacts more than 14,000 students.Â
The district continues to work on improving transportation for this coming school year.

As parents are facing more changes and decisions, the district hosted a virtual information session Tuesday evening about two proposals that would implement three different start times instead of the nine JCPS currently has.
Those traffic jams are caused by pickup lines outside of schools.
The long carpool lines at schools across Louisville caught the attention of Metro Council.
