With just a few weeks left in 2025, the domestic box office has just passed $8 billion.

The Dallas Cowboys' 31-28 win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day was the most-watched regular-season game in NFL history. CBS reports the game averaged 57.23 million viewers. The early game between Green Bay and Detroit also drew big numbers, averaging 47.7 million viewers. This makes it the second-most watched regular-season game since Fox began carrying the NFL in 1994.

Shoppers scoured for deals everything from electronics to clothing on Cyber Monday, delivering strong sales for online retailers and capping a five-day spending spree that kicked off on Thanksgiving. Adobe Analytics reported that as of 6:30 p.m. EST on Monday, U.S. consumers had already spent $9.1 billion online for Cyber Monday, up 4.5% from the same day a year ago. Adobe expects that when the final tally is in, consumers will spend between $13.9 billion and $14.2 billion for the day, making Cyber Monday the biggest online shopping day of the year - and of all time.

Texas has climbed to No. 2 in the AP Top 25 women's basketball poll after defeating two top teams in a Thanksgiving tournament. The Longhorns beat then-No. 2 South Carolina and then-No. 3 UCLA in Las Vegas. This marks the first time in 25 years a team has beaten two top-three teams so quickly. Texas received 10 first-place votes, while No. 1 UConn received 22. South Carolina dropped to third, and UCLA is fourth. LSU remains fifth, setting an NCAA record by scoring over 100 points in each of their first eight games. Michigan, Maryland, TCU, Oklahoma, and Iowa State complete the top 10.

“Zootopia 2" broke box office records with a massive Thanksgiving weekend opening. The Disney sequel earned $96 million in North America over the weekend and $156 million over the five-day Thanksgiving frame. Since its Wednesday opening, it has made $556 million globally, making it the highest international opening for an animated movie. “Wicked: For Good” also performed well, earning $62.8 million domestically over the weekend. Travelers at the end of the Thanksgiving holiday on Sunday were finding hundreds of flights delayed and canceled into and out of Chicago following a winter storm in the Great Lakes region. In Wisconsin, utility crews worked to restore power to thousands of people while the airport in Des Moines, Iowa, reopened on the critical travel day after a Delta Connection flight landing from Detroit slid off an icy runway. No injuries were reported. The National Weather Service says a new storm is heading to the mid-Atlantic and Northeast, with up to a foot of snow by Tuesday.
