Louisville freshman running back Isaac Brown completes a long touchdown run against Kentucky during a win in the 2024 season at Kroger Field in Lexington.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville running back Isaac Brown continues to draw national attention ahead of the 2025 college football season. On Monday, he was named to two of Phil Steele’s Preseason All-America teams, a nod from one of the sport’s most respected analysts.

Brown landed on Steele’s second team as an all-purpose back and fourth team at running back in the annual College Football Preview magazine. He also earned a spot on Steele’s Preseason first team All-ACC list.

The sophomore from Homestead, Fla., is coming off a record-breaking freshman season in which he rushed for 1,173 yards and 11 touchdowns—both Louisville records for a true freshman. He led the ACC in yards per carry (7.1) and added five 100-yard rushing performances, including 178 yards in a win over Kentucky.

Brown was named ACC Rookie of the Year and Freshman All-American last season after breaking Lamar Jackson’s freshman rushing mark.

Six other Cardinals were recognized by Steele on his preseason All-ACC teams: wide receiver Caullin Lacy, center Pete Nygra and linebacker Stanquan Clark (first team), wide receiver Chris Bell and defensive lineman Clev Lubin (third team), and linebacker T.J. Quinn and defensive linemanĀ Rene Konga were named to the fourth team.

Louisville is set to open the season on Aug. 30 at 3 p.m. against Eastern Kentucky in L&N Stadium.
