LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- University of Louisville men's basketball coach Pat Kelsey has reached into the portal to land one of the most sought-after guards in the transfer pool.
Adrian Wooley, a 6-5 guard who averaged 18.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.6 assists during his freshman season at Kennesaw State, has chosen Louisville over his hometown program, Alabama, according to a report from On3 editor Joe Tipton.
He was voted Conference USA freshman of the year and first-team All-C-USA for a Kennesaw State team that finished 19-13.
Wooley shot 42 percent from three-point range and 51 percent from the field.
He is expected to join 5-star freshman point guard Mikel Brown and German professional Sananda Fry in the current recruiting class, which is not yet complete. Kelsey also will return a couple of players who redshirted last season with injuries -- center Aly Khalifa and guard Kobe Rodgers -- and possibly Kasean Pryor, who was injured early in the season, and J'Vonne Hadley, who could return because of new NCAA Transfer rules.
Another Louisville target, 5-star wing Nate Ament, is expected to announce his commitment during Tuesday's McDonald's All-American game. Ament is considering Arkansas, Duke, Kentucky and Tennessee.
