LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — And then there was one.

Louisville forward/center Vangelis Zougris has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to multiple reports, including DraftExpress, leaving Adrian Wooley as the only returning scholarship player from last season’s roster who has not declared an intention to transfer.

Zougris, a 6-foot-8-inch, 240-pound native of Peristeri, Greece, joined the Cardinals after four seasons in the Greek Basketball League with Peristeri Athens, bringing a physical, experienced presence to Louisville’s frontcourt.

His role grew late in the season, as he started the Cardinals’ final six games. He finished the year averaging 2.4 points and 2.6 rebounds.

Zougris’ departure is the latest in a steady stream of transfer decisions that has reduced last season’s roster to a single holdover — a snapshot of just how quickly things can change in the modern college game.

Louisville also returns London Johnson, a point guard who made headlines when he signed with the program out of the NBA’s G League.

He joined the team in December of last season but did not play.
