LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Providence High School won its third baseball state championship on Saturday in Indianapolis.
The Pioneers won the IHSAA Class 2-A state title, defeating Illiana Christian 9-0. It is Providence's second state title in four years.
Providence pitcher Gavin Jackson tosses the first no-hitter in state finals history, which spans 57 years. Jackson struck out 10 hitters and walked three in seven innings.
Jack Beyl drove in three runs for Providence.
Providence scored in the top of the first inning and then added two more runs in the third inning. The lineup erupted for six runs in the sixth inning.
