Tim Laird on WDRB Mornings with Halloween recipes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's Halloween party season, and America's Chief Entertaining Officer Tim Laird stopped by WDRB Mornings Tuesday with spooky ideas to help you scare up a good time at your next get together.

It's always nice to kick things off with a little cocktail to get started:

Jefferson's Ghost of Kentucky

It starts with ice and an ounce and a half of Jefferson's Bourbon. Then add about two ounces of apple cider, followed by an ounce of cranberry juice. "Then I garnish it with a little apple slice that's dusted with apple pie spice."

For a non-alcoholic version, substitute iced tea for Jefferson's Bourbon.

Laird also shared some great ideas for a chilling charcuterie tray, by cutting a little skull from cheese, "make little holes with a little cutter and make a little nose," Laird said. "Fill it with the little cherry spread or fig jam, -- whatever you want -- and you can arrange it."

Scary eyeballs are simple to make -- "it's just basically one of these cherry peppers, a little bit of mozzarella and of course an olive to give it that effect."

Laird said you can also include a little bit of pumpkin shaped hummus.
