LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Halloween is a great time to use makeup to create a costume to remember. The good news is that you don't have to be a makeup artist to pull off a look straight from the movies. Denise Cardwells is sharing two ideas perfect for beginners.
Marvelous Mermaid Skin: This could be go down as the most cool makeup effect you can achieve with a fishnet stocking. Believe it or not, you can get a fabulously fishy look with some eye shadow and a few basic techniques!
Step 1: Proceed with your regular makeup routine, making sure to use a high quality primer so that your scales don't slip!
Step 2: Cover your forehead, eyes, and cheekbones with fishnet tights. Remember, you'll only get the scaled effect where your tights cover!
Step 3: Apply iridescent eyeshadow where you would like your skin to be transformed! Use a variety of oceanic colors, including shades of blue, white, and green to get extra dimension.
Step 4: Carefully remove the fishnet tights, make sure you don't smudge your scales, and set your look with a reliable setting spray.
Step 5: Bring the beauty with the addition of rhinestones at the outside corners of your eyes.
