LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Tolls are going up July 1 for drivers who use the Lincoln, Kennedy and Lewis & Clark Bridges.
In a release, RiverLink is reminding those who drive between Louisville and southern Indiana that tolls increase 2.5 percent each year. This is the first rate increase since tolls began for the three bridges.
The new toll rate for a passenger vehicle with a prepaid account and transponder is $2.05 per crossing. The current toll rate is $2 per crossing, so drivers pay a nickel more each trip.
Medium vehicles with two-axles, three-axles or four-axles with prepaid accounts and a transponder will now pay $5.13 per crossing. Semis or five-axle vehicles with the same prepaid accounts and transponders will pay $10.25.

"We are probably running, you know, five, six trips a day," said Andrea Glass, Owner Boston's Floral on East Broadway.
As Glass loaded a van for deliveries in Kentucky and Indiana, she explained the need to pay attention to the cost of crossing the Ohio River Toll Bridges.
She said, "We go as far as Prospect, we go all the way to Jeffersonville, we go to Clarksville. I own the business, it's my money and I have to pay it."
"I am sure it is going to surprise some drivers," said Mindy Peterson, Riverlink Spokesperson.
Peterson said the increase has been planned from the beginning, but she understands the frustration.
"It is a little tough to talk about; nobody is going to be a big fan of tolling and nobody wants to talk about rates increasing."
But like it or not, the annual increase is here for a while.
"You have to keep pace with inflation so rates are going to increase every year," said Peterson. "That is basically pennies on the dollar, but it certainly mattes to drivers, we know that and just want to make sure they're aware."
"At the end of the day, it all adds up," said Glass.
There are still some free options like the 2nd street bridge, but that's not always the best option for Andrea Glass.
"Time is money, so it takes longer to get there and that costs me more money on my labor," said Glass. "It kind of stinks because it's more money out of my pocket."
