LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) --Â Two weeks after it shut down when high winds toppled its screen, the drive-in theater in Oldham County remains closed.
The National Weather Service estimated winds of 40-45 miles per hour hit the area Sept. 5, the night the screen came down.Â
On its Facebook page Tuesday, the Sauerbeck Family Drive-in said it's working with its insurance to get the screen rebuilt, but it could be "several more weeks" before that happens. A temporary screen could go up in the meantime, however, the post said.
The $2 million drive-in theater opened in August.
