Community health expo in west Louisville offers free screenings, support

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Families are invited to the Annual Black Family Wellness Expo this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in west Louisville.

The event will take place at the Goodwill West Louisville Opportunity Center on West Broadway. The event is free and open to the public.

Hosted by the The Links, Incorporated Louisville chapter, the expo brings together local healthcare providers and community partners to offer free screenings, resources and support, all in one place.

Attendees can receive onsite health screenings and connect with medical and supportive services for the entire family.

The expo will cover a range of topics, including heart health, diabetes, mental health, dental care, weight management, active living and healthy eating. Information on children’s health, aging support and voter engagement will also be available.

Organizers said the event is part of a nationwide initiative by The Links, Incorporated to improve health outcomes and address disparities impacting Black families and communities.
