LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — You have a chance to win a new convertible or $50,000 in cash all while helping Kentucky children attend summer camp.
Kentucky State Police are raffling off a 2024 Ford Mustang GT Premium Convertible, valued at $58,467. The money raised from the raffle goes toward KSP's Trooper Island, a summer camp near Cumberland County, Kentucky.
Trooper Island is a free summer camp for children 10-12 years old from families who have financial hardships. About 700 campers attend each year, enjoying a wide array of activities while learning leadership, teamwork and life skills.
Each raffle ticket is $10, and can be purchased here or at any KSP post in the state. A maximum of 50,000 tickets will be sold. The raffle is tentatively set for Aug. 25 at 3 p.m. EST during the Kentucky State Fair. You do not have to be present to win. The winner will be responsible for all taxes and license fees.
Last year, a record 37,519 tickets were sold and this year, KSP hopes that number is higher to help more children.
“When you purchase a $10 raffle ticket, you’re not just entering a drawing; you’re investing in children whose families are financially challenged by providing means for these kids to experience a week-long summer camp free of charge,” Trooper Island Camp Commander Trooper Jonathan Biven said.
