LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Metro Police Foundation is asking for donations for an officer who recently suffered a heart attack.

The foundation said in a Facebook post 34-year-old Officer Travis Tracy had a sudden heart attack Feb. 20 and was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.

Doctors said it's highly unusual for someone in great shape like Tracy to have a heart attack and said it only happens to 1–2% of people worldwide.

Tracy serves the city's 3rd Division as a district resource officer. Now, he and his wife are facing overwhelming medical bills and he is unable to work while he recovers.

That's why the foundation is asking the public for help.

If you're interested in helping Tracy, his wife, McKenna, and their Great Dane pup, Odin, you can donate on the Foundation's Facebook Page. You can also donate by CLICKING HERE. Or use its Venmo account:@LouisvilleMetro-PoliceFoundati.
