Polar Bear Qannik

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Get ready to party with the animals.

The Louisville Zoo is launching a new monthly tradition that puts the spotlight on some of its most beloved stars.

Mayor Craig Greenberg and zoo officials announced the Zoo’s first Birthday Bash will be held Saturday, Jan. 24, kicking off a monthly series of animal birthday celebrations throughout the year.

Guests will get to watch as the Zoo’s “birthday stars” enjoy custom, species-specific enrichment treats. Special keeper talks will also give visitors a closer look at the animals and how they are cared for.

From gorillas and penguins to polar bears and zebras, the Birthday Bash is designed to be both fun and educational, offering families a unique way to experience the zoo.

The January Birthday Bash is free with zoo admission. A full schedule and details on how to attend are available online.
