Indiana Senate Republicans are proposing a bill for a special session that suspend sales tax on residential utilities instead of a $225 taxpayer refund.
The universal tax refund was approved last week in a 37-9 vote during a special legislative session to help taxpayers deal with rising expenses from inflation.
Klutz hopes that all 1.7 million refund checks will be mailed by early October.
