Whether it's a large celebration or even a standoff, Jeffersonville Police Department's new vehicle will help officers protect and serve the entire city.
Under a proposed amendment to the collective bargaining agreement between the city and the police union, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #100, newly hired officers would get a $6,000 bump in base pay.
The decision was less about recruitment and more about retention of officers who are already trained and on the streets.
