Morehead, Ky.-based AppHarvest drew praise for its vision of sustainable farming and good jobs in Appalachia. Now it is trying not to run out of money.
High-tech farming pioneer AppHarvest needs more cash by October and is battling a Listeria problem at its Berea, Ky. greenhouse, according to a regulatory filing.
Lender Equilibrium Capital visited the greenhouse in April and came away with “significant concerns regarding the state of the facility,” according to a document filed in Madison County Circuit Court.
