Some Kentucky lawmakers believe legalizing medical marijuana could generate millions of dollars and ease suffering for patients. And that's why there's an effort to help the legislation grow roots in urban areas.
Under the measure, medical cannabis could be prescribed for a list of conditions, including cancer, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, epilepsy, chronic nausea and post-traumatic stress disorder.
A bill updating Kentucky's medical marijuana laws passed the House this week.
