LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A 42-year-old man died after being hit by a car in the Watterson Park neighborhood on Tuesday night.
Louisville Metro Police responded about 10:47 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a person being struck by a car in the 3500 block of Newburg Road, according to LMPD spokesman Matt Sanders.
EMS pronounced Joshua R. Elliott dead at the scene.Â
Sanders said the initial investigation suggests the car was traveling south on Newburg Road when Elliott was trying to cross the road "east to west in the middle of the block in a dimly lit area." The driver of the car stayed on scene.
LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating.
