LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man died after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex off Shelbyville Road.
According to St. Matthew's Fire Department, the initial call came in at 3:51 p.m. on a structure fire at Brookside Apartments at 8125 Copper Creek Drive.
It took firefighters less than three minutes to arrive on scene. Upon arrival, flames could be seen through the roof of the structure.
St. Matthew's Fire Department said multiple units responded to assist.
One man was transported to UofL Hospital with injuries and died shortly after his arrival. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identified the man Friday morning as Travis Santana.
No other injuries were reported.
The Louisville Metro Arson Bureau is handling the investigation.
