LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police have arrested and charged two people in connection to a shooting last June.
On Thursday, LMPD arrested Willetta Lewis, 30, and charged her with complicity murder and robbery in connection to the shooting death of Jeffrey Bizzle, 38, on June 1, 2023.Â
According to court records, Lewis stole items from Bizzle at 1st and Jacob streets, and Bizzle was then shot by another man.
Police said Lewis was identified by a witness through surveillance video, and investigators also used the surveillance video to identify Timothy Wright, the man who shot Bizzle, police said.
Lewis and Wright, 29, were initially arrested by Jeffersontown Police last September. During that arrest, a gun was found, and police said the recovered gun matched evidence collected at the murder scene.Â
Wright is facing murder and complicity to robbery charges. Both are set to be arraigned Friday at 9 a.m.
