LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two people were injured in a house fire in Louisville's Shawnee neighborhood Sunday afternoon.
Capt. Donovan Sims with Louisville Fire Department said crews responded to a house fire in the 4300 block of River Park Drive just before 3:15 p.m.
Firefighters found a 1.5-story single-family home "with heavy smoke and fire emerging from the first floor," according to Sims.
Crews gained control of the fire in 17 minutes and two people self-evacuated but sustained injuries.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
