LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Two inmates escaped from the Hardin County Detention Center, resulting in a jail employee losing their job.Â
Carl Brooks and John Tinsley escaped from the jail's substance abuse program annex Tuesday, police said. Both Brooks and Tinsley were being held on probation violations.
Hardin County Jailer Joshua Lindblom said the jail employee did not help the men escape but was "lax in his job."
Brooks' last known address was in the Brandenburg area of Meade County, according to Kentucky State Police. Tinsley's last listed address was in the Radcliff area.
Lindblom said firing the employee involved was important in making sure another incident doesn't happen.
Carl Brooks, left, and John Tinsley escaped from the Hardin County Detention Center on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020, according to Kentucky State Police.Â
"This is a job. Even though this is a minimal-security facility down there that doesn't have lot of issues, you still have to be proactive and make sure everybody is following everything to a tee with what they're supposed to be doing," Lindblom said. "It's just something we cannot have."
If you see either Brooks or Tinsley, KSP said do not approach them and instead call authorities at either 911 or 270-766-5078.Â
