LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville police are looking for a man who allegedly hangs out naked at Cherokee Park.
In a social media post, Louisville Metro Police said the man is sometimes fully naked at Cherokee Park near Scenic Loop and commits "lewd acts" before running away.
Police said this has happened in front of children. According to police, he's been reported to be seen near Hogan's Fountain, the lower soccer fields, Chauffeur's Rest and the Scenic Loop area.
People who frequent Cherokee Park said they are staying alert.
"I don’t know if I have seen him, but I have certainly heard about him quite a bit," said Katherine Pack, who was walking the scenic loop.
Pack said she now carries pepper spray and a loud personal alarm while walking alone in the park.
"If I’m doing this by myself, if I’m walking out by myself," Pack said. "Better safe than sorry."
Another park-goer, Emil Dobrescu, said he would be "taken by surprise" if he saw the man, but would make sure the people around him were safe.
"I would watch very carefully to see if he intends to mess with somebody, harm somebody, kidnap somebody, whatever," he said.
Police did not say whether the suspect has physically touched anyone or made threats.
LMPD asks you to call 911 if you see him and to report what he was wearing, if anything, and his direction of travel.
