LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville man was indicted this week for the fatal killing of a man in August 2025, his fourth murder indictment in the last three years.
Andrew Jackson faces two new murder charges in connection to the shooting death of Patrick Brents Jr. on Aug. 25, 2025, and the shooting death of Devon Jefferson on July 22, 2025. Jackson was already in jail after police charged him with murders in May 2024 and April 2025.Â
In September 2025, Jackson was indicted for the murder of 31-year-old Adrian Lewis. And in December 2025, DNA evidence led police to indict him for the April 2025 murder of Wayne Woods Sr.Â
LMPD also announced Friday that Malik Johnson was indicted for Jefferson's murder in July 2025. Johnson was previously indicted for the January 2023 murder of Montae Robinson. At the time, he faced additional charges of being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, tampering with physical evidence and fleeing or evading police.
"These indictments represent another important step in LMPD's ongoing efforts to reduce violent crime, seek justice for victims and their families, and hold those responsible for acts of violence accountable," LMPD said in a written statement Sunday. "The cases reflect the Department's continued commitment to pursuing complex investigations and improving public safety throughout Louisville."
Police also said Jackson and Johnson are connected to two non-fatal shootings in 2025. Both men were already in jail at the time of the new indictments.
"These indictments reflect the continued commitment and collaborative efforts of the LMPD Homicide Unit and Non-Fatal Shooting Unit, with support from the Digital Forensics Unit, Violent Crimes Unit, Technical Operations Division, SWAT Team, patrol personnel, and partner agencies," LMPD said in written statement Friday. "Their dedication and persistence were instrumental in advancing these investigations and holding those responsible accountable."
