LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A 70-year-old southern Indiana man and registered sex offender is facing rape and child molesting charges after police said he sexually abused a child over several years.
Ronald Brown, of North Vernon, was arrested Wednesday after a nearly two-month investigation by the Jennings County Sheriff's Office.
Police said the investigation started June 18, when a now-adult reported Brown had sexually abused them for years, beginning when they were under 14.
Detectives interviewed Brown June 23, but police said he made no admissions and was not arrested at the time.
After interviewing more people involved, the department obtained a warrant and took Brown into custody Wednesday.
Brown was charged with rape and child molesting. He is a registered sex offender who was previously convicted of a felony offense involving another child.
At the time of his arrest, he was on community corrections supervision.
Brown is being held without bond at the Jennings County Jail.
