LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- All southbound lanes on Interstate 65 at the Jefferson Street ramp in downtown Louisville have reopened after a semitruck crash Thursday evening.
According to TRIMARC, the crash happened around 7:37 p.m., blocking all lanes. Only the semi was involved.
Louisville Metro Police spokesperson John Bradley said the semi hit a wall and became detached. There were no injuries reported Bradley said.
Crews were working to clear the roadway of the undriveable semi. There was also a hazmat crew on scene cleaning up fuel, Louisville Fire said.
All lanes opened shortly after midnight.
This comes after a scheduled weekend closure of I-65 was canceled due to weather.
Work to perform bridge joint replacements on I-65 at "Hospital Curve" was scheduled to begin Friday and continue through the weekend. A complete closure of I-65 Southbound lanes on the Kennedy bridge that would have diverted drivers crossing the bridge into Kentucky to I-71 or I-64 has also been postponed.
