LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Multiple residents were displaced Thursday night after a vehicle crashed into an apartment and caught on fire.
According to Louisville Fire Department spokesperson Donovan Sims, fire crews were called around 8:20 p.m. to the 3500 block of Georgetown Place after a car hit the three-story apartment building. That's in the Jacobs neighborhood.
When firefighters arrived, they found the car on fire and blocking the building’s main entrance. The fire was under control within about 20 minutes and contained to the main building.
Firefighters searched the apartments and confirmed no one was trapped inside. One resident suffered a "minor injury" while evacuating, but no other injuries were reported.
The fire displaced 14 residents — 13 adults and one child — from the building’s six apartments.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
