LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Louisville Metro Police is asking for the public's help to solve a more than 50-year-old cold case out of the east end.

On July 5, 1972, Joyce "Mable" Bridges was found unresponsive by her husband in their home on Bent Oak Circle, off Chamberlain Lane.

Bridges was taken to Peewee Valley Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. She was then moved to a funeral home with no initial police or EMS involvement.

In 2015, her body was exhumed for an autopsy, and her manner of death was ruled a homicide, which is now being actively investigated by LMPD's Cold Case Unit.

The department is asking anyone who has information on the case or knows the family to contact them.

Anyone with information in this or any other case is encouraged to call LMPD's anonymous Crime Tip Line at 502-574-LMPD (5673). Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the department's online Crime Tip Portal by clicking here.
