LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- For the second time in less than two months, a fireball meteor in the night sky dazzled people in several states, and it was caught on camera in Kentucky.

It happened around 11:36 p.m. Thursday.

WDRB Chief Meteorologist Marc Weinberg said he actually saw it in person, and wrote about it on his Facebook page: "It was massive!!! Fragmented as it fell from overhead toward the north with an incredible green color. I can’t believe I just saw that!!!!"

Weinberg also posted a video on his X account showing the meteor that was sent to him from viewer Kaitlyn Ann

The meteor was seen over several other states, including Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois, Weinberg said on X

Another fireball meteor was captured on doorbell cameras in the early morning hours of Aug. 2.

According to the American Meteor Society, fireball meteors are generally brighter than magnitude -4, which is about the same brightness of the planet Venus as seen in the morning or evening sky.
