LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Support is growing across the state for Gov. Andy Beshear's Pre-K for All initiative.

Town halls across the commonwealth were held, educating people about the initiative. Nearly 90% of town hall participants supported additional funding for preschool and increasing access.

Since the Pre-K for All initiative started in May, Beshear said more than 60,000 Kentuckians have written to state legislators asking them to support expanding preschool access.

Judge executives and mayors have also sent in letters of support.

Team Kentucky has also held 40 outreach events about the initiative.

"We've heard from thousands of Kentuckians including parents, educators, business owners, childcare providers, legislators, and local officials both republican and democrat," Beshear said. "Because Pre-k for All should be a non partisan issue."

The governor shared the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents has officially endorsed Team Kentucky’s Pre-K for All initiative.
