LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens of people were strapping on roller skates Saturday to help a local organization.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana celebrated it's national mentoring month with their new roller skate for kid's sake.

It took place at Champ's Rollerdrome Saturday.

Every dollar raised helps Big Brothers Big Sisters support more youth through mentorship. There was a lot of food and giveaways.

One in three young people say they don't have a good mentor in their lives and the organization is hoping to change that.

"It's a great opportunity to spend some time with our matches, with our bigs and littles, our mentors, and our young people and our families and our families that are on the waiting list," said Eric McDaniel with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.

Big Brothers Big Sisters works with youth in 10 countries across Kentucky and southern Indiana.
