Big Four Bridge lights up for cancer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Big Four Bridge honored the birthday of the American Cancer Society with a special ceremony.

Luminaria candles flooded the walkway over the Ohio River on Thursday evening.

Nearly 5,000 bags were lit along the bridge and its ramp.

Each candle honors, remembers and celebrates those who have been touched by cancer with a visual reminder of those fighting the disease.

The luminaria candles are set up for the 100th birthday of the American Cancer Society.
