LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/WAVE) — Newly obtained arrest footage shows the moment Bullitt County deputies took into custody the man accused of shooting a Texas Roadhouse manager during a dispute over an unpaid bill in Okolona.

The video shows deputies pulling over 24-year-old Ronald Winter and ordering him out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

“Keep your hands in the air! Do not reach for anything, do you understand?” one deputy can be heard shouting.

Winter complied and was taken into custody without incident.

According to Louisville Metro Police Department, Winter is accused of shooting a manager in the shoulder during a struggle at the Texas Roadhouse on Old Outer Loop on June 11 after attempting to leave without paying.

Court documents said when Winter tried to leave the restaurant without paying, a manager grabbed his arm. The employee said that when Winter tried to reach for his waistband, the employee tried to tackle Winter to the ground. That’s when the gun fired.

The manager was taken to UofL Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and has since been released.

Authorities later located Winter after he fled the scene. Investigators said he was found in Bullitt County near Highway 44 hours after the shooting, with a gun that had shell casing in the chamber.

Winter is charged with second-degree assault and is out of jail after posting a $50,000 property bond, according to court records. His case is expected to move forward to a grand jury review.
