LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Brooks, Kentucky, hotel will be going through some major changes this summer.

The Quality Inn and Suites on Brooks Hill Road was purchased two months ago by BKEC Enterprises LLC for about $4 million, as reported by our partners at Louisville Business First.

The hotel will be rebranded into a Hyatt Select hotel.

"It’s a good location, right off of I-65," Karan Shah, BKS Management LLC told LBF. "The south part of Louisville is growing, that area is growing and we thought it was a good community to invest in."

The 77-room hotel will also undergo a $1.5-2 million renovation inside and out, including a complete lobby overhaul with a new breakfast area, gym, flooring, bathrooms and wallpaper.

Renovations have already begun, and the hotel will remain open during renovations, which are expected to be completed by the late July or early August.

This is the latest acquisition by BKS Management, the affiliated firm of BKEC Enterprises.

The company bought the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Jeffersonville, Indiana in November, and also plan to convert that hotel into a Hyatt Select Hotel. The company also owns The Courtyard by Marriott Louisville East, Holiday Inn Express in New Albany, Indiana, the Holiday Inn Express in La Grange, the Days Inn on Fern Valley Road and the Hilton Garden Inn in Cincinnati.
