NORTON ANNIVERSARY (1).jpeg

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's been one year since Norton West Louisville Hospital opened.

The Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center hosted a celebration on Saturday to mark the milestone, with the official anniversary on Tuesday.

The event featured free health screenings, community resources, career opportunities and healthcare assistance.

Norton staff also spoke with residents about its relationship with west Louisville, where the hospital is the first to open in more than a century.

"Just because we've been open a year doesn't mean that we don't still continue to come out of our four walls and make sure that the community knows that we're still here and still providing resources," said Corenza Townsend, chief administrative officer at Norton West Hospital.

There was also face painting, balloon art and bouncy houses for kids.
