LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kroger broke ground on a new store coming to east Louisville.
Officials broke ground along Ballardsville Road near New Chamberlain Lane in the Springhurst area Thursday morning.
The 66,000 square foot store is set to feature a Starbucks, a fuel center and a drive-thru Wine and Spirits Shoppe.
"It's really a new community hub," Jessica Sharp, Kroger Louisville division corporate affiliate, said. "We love to be where customers love to shop and where associates love to work. So we love creating that culture in our stores that keep people coming back for more and keep associates coming back to work every day, enjoying themselves and serving our community."
The store is set to open in winter 2024. Kroger currently has 23 stores across Jefferson County.
