LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Derby City Gaming is giving back to the community through its customers.
The company donated $10,096.42 to the Norton Healthcare Foundation on Tuesday, thanks to uncashed tickets.
"We are proud to donate to the Norton Healthcare Foundation because of their commitment to providing personalized, multidisciplinary care to women in our community," Bridget Harmon, general manager of Derby City Gaming, said in a news release. "By supporting Norton, we help ensure that high-quality, comprehensive health services remain accessible to families across Louisville and southern Indiana."
A donation box was set up at the Poplar Level Road location of Derby City Gaming. Instead of throwing the tickets away, customers turned them in. That added up to the 5-figure donation.
