LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Derby City Gaming has officially opened in downtown Louisville.

Wednesday marked 150 days until the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby. Bars, lounge, live entertainment, sports betting and nearly 500 historical racing machines are part of the $92 million facility.

It's also bringing 150 jobs to the area. The general manager said this is just the beginning of what he promises to be a downtown transformation.

"The corner of 4th and Market is never going to be the same ever again we brought a piece of Derby culture and legacy right here," Garth Williams, Derby City general manager, said.

As part of Wednesday's ribbon cutting ceremony, Derby City Gaming also donated $20,000 to the Norton Healthcare Foundation and $20,000 to the Hope Bus.
