LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A new $75 million development with homes and apartments is planned for east Louisville.

According to our partners at Louisville Business First, Highgates Development plans to build a housing development off Johnson Road, just north of Valhalla Golf Club, with 81 single-family lots and 80 apartments.

Joseph Waldman, founder and CEO of Highgates Development, said it will sit along Floyds Fork and include a dog park, splash pad, walking trails and green spaces.

He said the area needs "high-end" apartments.

"It's something unique for the area," Waldman told Business First. "There's nothing in the area that has a combination of high-end apartments and single-family houses. This was a big win to get this thing approved."

Waldman plans to break ground in June 2026.
