LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- It's turning out to be a tough fall for coffee lovers who want nothing more than a good Pumpkin Spice Latte this time of the year.

Starbucks is closing stores, while other coffee shops are struggling with the soaring price of coffee beans. Many coffee lovers in many communities are finding their Starbucks closed this week with a sign on the door saying it was a difficult decision.

Other shops are brewing through the storm of rising costs.

In August, the Trump Administration imposed a 50% tariff on coffee imports from Brazil. Combined with recent droughts, that has sent the price of coffee beans up 21% the past year, much higher than the overall inflation rate.

While home brewing is still cheaper, social media is filled with posts about rising prices on supermarket brands.

Consider going with a smaller cup, or downgrade from that latte to a straight brew.
