LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Just when it seemed grocery inflation was behind us, the government says food prices will continue to rise in 2025.

If you like eggs, beef, or orange juice, you'll see those prices hike as we head into the new year.

Already, those prices are up more than overall inflation and are likely to continue.

"Eggflation" was up 37% in 2024, according to the government, as bird flu continues to take a toll.

Beef prices were up 5%, with fewer cattle herds and increased demand.

Frozen orange juice was up 17% due to a citrus disease, and coffee was up 3% and continues to rise.

Cacao beans were up a whopping 108% last year due to weather events in Africa.

While inflation may be down, don't expect a smaller grocery bill in 2025.
