LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city of Louisville celebrated the grand opening of its first food truck park and game yard.

Back of the House Collective Yard is located at 3215 Preston Highway across the from the Kentucky Exposition Center. Back of the House Collective is an organization that provides resources and support to food service workers.

It's the first permanent space for the organization. The property was originally abandoned, but was repurposed to accommodate up to six food trucks.Ā

The space will serve as a hub for local and aspiring food truck operators who can connect with each other, learn new skills and enhance their menus.

"This place is something new for Louisville," said food truck owner Ramon Hargons. "This is a game yard, it's a food truck yard, it's a social yard, it's a networking yard for people that are in the food industry."

The yard also has a miniature dog park.

New food trucks rotate weekly. It's open every weekend from 2 to 10 p.m.
